Community Hospital Phlebotomy Program

Interested in a career as a phlebotomist? The Community Hospital Phlebotomy Program at Powers Health instructs students on how to properly collect blood samples from different types of patients in various clinical settings. This fast-paced, seven-week program prepares students for immediate entry into the workforce as well-trained phlebotomists. Students will learn phlebotomy principles and techniques through didactic instruction, student labs, and over 100 hours of hands-on clinical experience from actual patients.

  • Non-blood Specimen Collection
  • Safety Practices and Infection Control
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum overall GPA of 2.50 on 4.00 scale
  • High school courses in the sciences (biology, chemistry), math (algebra) and English composition
  • References including personal, academic, employment and personal interview
  • Criminal background check, drug-screen, essential functions test
  • $1000 tuition fee
