Community Healthcare System to host Peripheral Vascular Disease Symposium

 

CROWN POINT | Community Healthcare System is hosting a Peripheral Vascular Disease Symposium and Health Fair from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 at Community Stroke & Rehabilitation Center, 10215 Broadway, Crown Point.

Community Healthcare System physicians will discuss the signs, symptoms, causes and treatment of Peripheral Vascular Disease or PVD, including new innovations and treatments for disorders outside the heart. PVD is a progressive narrowing of the arteries in the leg that may cause pain and circulation issues. There will be vendor booths beginning at 4 p.m., with physician presentations to follow starting at 5 p.m.

  • PAD & Critical Limb Ischemia by Shadi Halabi, MD, Interventional Cardiology
  • Vein Disorders of the Legs by Kais Yehyawi, MD, Interventional Cardiology
  • PVD and Your Feet by Jared Moon, DPM, Podiatry

The Limb Ischemia & Vascular Excellence (L.I.V.E.) Program at the hospitals of Community Healthcare System offers a multidisciplinary approach using the expertise of endovascular and certified wound specialists, infectious disease physicians, podiatrists and vascular surgeons.
