NORTHWEST INDIANA | Two Powers Health hospitals are among the best physical rehabilitation centers in the country, according to Newsweek and Statista Inc., an industry ranking provider.
Powers Health Rehabilitation Center in Crown Point and St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart have earned places on the 2024 list, with the former receiving the distinction of No. 2 rehabilitation center in Indiana for a third consecutive year. St. Mary Medical Center earned a spot in the top five for the state.
“One of the most important goals we have as a healthcare provider is to improve quality of life for those who turn to us for help,” said Donald P. Fesko, CEO of Powers Health. “This recognition validates the effective work of the staff members who work tirelessly to get our patients back to feeling their best and back to the activities they love.”
The America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2024 list highlights top physical rehabilitation centers from all U.S. states. The nation’s top inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs) were identified based on the following data sources:
- National Online Survey: Thousands of medical experts (physicians, therapists, administration and staff working in physical rehabilitation facilities) were invited to an online peer-to-peer survey.
- Quality Score: Participants also were asked to rank the quality of care, quality of service, quality of follow-up care, accommodations and amenities. Data published by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) was taken into consideration.
- Accreditation: Data on physical rehabilitation centers provided by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC) were taken into consideration.
