Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Masking

Effective, Monday, March 27, 2023, all Community Healthcare System sites will be mask optional with the exceptions below. This includes hospitals, outpatient centers/clinics and physician offices.

  • Staff and providers will wear appropriate masks and PPE in accordance with standard precautions and infection control guidelines when caring for patients.
  • Patients with respiratory symptoms will be provided a mask to wear.
  • Visitors should not visit if they feel ill or are experiencing respiratory symptoms.
  • Hartsfield Village will continue to follow State and Federal guidelines specific to long-term care facilities.

General Visitation

  • Hospital visitation is 8 am to 8 pm.
  • All visitors must be 12 years or older.*
  • Visitors are limited to 2 people per inpatient.*
  • For outpatient testing or procedures, 2 adults may accompany the patient.
  • For Emergency Department visits, 2 adults may accompany the patient.*
  • For Pediatric and Neonatal units, visitation is limited to 2 parents or guardians.*
  • Visitors of COVID positive patients must follow COVID-19 protocols while on site.

DO NOT VISIT if you are ill or have any symptoms including fever, cough, difficulty breathing, headache, chills, sore throat, body aches, fatigue, vomiting and/or diarrhea, loss of taste or smell.

*exceptions may be arranged with individual nursing units or departments.

COVID Testing

COVID-19 rapid tests are available in the Immediate Care Centers. Tests may only be administered with an Immediate Care visit. Results are available same day. To find a location near you, click here.

Cost of the COVID-19 diagnostic test is $300, billed to insurance. Cash price, if paid at time of service, is $180.

COVID Clinic

Patients who have had COVID-19 often experience lingering symptoms several weeks after recovery. Community Healthcare System now offers a multi-disciplinary COVID Clinic to help guide and recommend testing and treatment options for these patients.

Patients who feel they have persistent symptoms can request an evaluation. No referral is necessary.

Patients whose symptoms persist after the first 3-6 weeks of their initial phase of COVID are often referred to as “long-haulers.” Common symptoms include:

  • Anxiety or depression
  • Cognitive dysfunction (brain fog)
  • Fatigue
  • Gastrointestinal issues
  • Persistent cough or chest pain
  • Persistent loss of taste or smell
  • Sensitivity to light and sounds
  • Shortness of breath
  • Short-term memory loss
