Patient & Family Advisory Council

patients and visitors

A Patient & Family Advisory Council (PFAC) is a productive way for patients and families to partner and provide guidance on how to improve the patient-family experience. The goal of the PFAC is to create a more patient-centered approach to the care we deliver every day. Engaging patients has shown to improve the quality and safety of the care delivered, lower the costs of care and reduce medical error.

Our healthcare teams are committed to creating an environment where the needs of patients and families drive the healthcare experience. Through our Patient and Family Advisory Councils, our hospitals welcome patients or family members to join us and share their perspectives.

Patient and Family Advisors will:

Attend quarterly meetings at the hospital (either in person or virtually) and offer your experience and insight on proposed changes to the care and services we provide.

Share first-hand knowledge and ideas on how we might provide healthcare services that are centered on patient- and family-identified needs, rather than assumptions about what patients and families may want.
