Do You Have Atrial Fibrillation? Get Screened for AFib

Atrial fibrillation, or AFib, causes one-third of all strokes, and 27 percent of those strokes occur with no prior symptoms. Strokes caused by AFib tend to be more severe and cause greater disability in patients than other types of stroke. Those found to be at risk for AFib will be referred to a St. Mary Medical Center cardiologist for follow-up.
