A Support System for life
workout support

Your journey to a healthy weight and healthy life doesn’t stop after weight-loss surgery. Powers Health bariatric surgical patients receive lifelong support to maximize success. This strong support system, provided by your medical and integrated health team, helps ensure that you lose weight and keep it off.

Support before and after surgery

Before and after surgery, patients learn to adjust to their new lifestyle with assistance from our team and a monthly support group. This ongoing support is vital in helping you adjust to your new weight. Ongoing participation helps you continue to practice the skills necessary for a lifetime of optimal health and weight management.

Educational support

Addressing the lifestyle and nutritional issues associated with weight loss is an essential component of the program. We help you reshape your life by teaching ways to modify your lifestyle so you can develop a long-term, healthy relationship with food. With the support of a clinical weight loss dietitian, you will receive guidance on eating plans as well as education about food choices before and after surgery. And, you will learn how to use the power of bariatric surgery for lifetime weight loss success.

Behavioral support

Our bariatric program has partnered with a number of mental health providers to offer experts who can help you manage the emotional changes that commonly occur after significant weight loss. Feelings of depression, anxiety and stress are normal and can happen as your body and mind experience changes that occur with weight-loss surgery.

Fitness support

We are committed to helping you feel confident about increasing your physical activity before and after weight-loss surgery. Powers Health Weight Management Services partners with area YMCAs as well as Community Hospital Fitness Pointe to provide safe, effective, non-intimidating physical activity experiences.
