Balloon Sinuplasty
Our ENT specialists use advanced minimally invasive technology for sinus surgery to help you recover faster from your treatment.
Balloon Sinuplasty is an endoscopic sinus surgery that uses sinus catheters to position a balloon into the blocked sinus passageway. The balloon then is inflated to gently restructure and open sinus passageways, restoring normal sinus drainage and function. Sinus stents and spacers also may be used to help keep the passages open and release medication directly into the sinuses.
Benefits of Balloon Sinuplasty:
- Minimally Invasive: The technology uses small, soft, flexible devices introduced through the nostrils. These devices gently open blocked sinuses.
- Safe and Effective: While use of any surgical instrument involves some risk, studies show balloon sinuplasty is safe and effective in relieving sinusitis symptoms.
- Reduced Bleeding: No tissue or bone is removed during surgery; so bleeding is reduced.
- Fast Recovery Time: Some patients return to normal activities within 24 to 48 hours.
