Palliative Care

Improving Quality of Life
palliative care

People living with a serious illness, such as cancer, COPD or congestive heart failure, can take advantage of palliative care offered through our healthcare system. Palliative care complements medical treatment with the goal of enhancing a person’s quality of life. It addresses pain, stress and symptoms associated with serious illness and offers a network of resources. Palliative care is not the same as hospice care, which supports people in their final months of life.

A multidisciplinary team

Palliative care team members may include your physician, nurses, social worker, therapists, dietitians and chaplains.
