Prepped with tech when seconds matter

Using cutting-edge technology, vascular neurologists can arrive via video to a patient’s bedside within minutes for a stroke assessment, saving precious time to diagnose and start treatment.

Called the TeleStroke Network, this structure provides expert care to patients who arrive at any Powers Health hospital Emergency Department. Through this mobile video robotic system, Community Hospital's vascular neurologists are able to speak face-to-face with patients as well as neurologists and clinicians.

During a TeleStroke assessment, a Community Hospital neurologist can review CT scans, vital signs and, through a high-definition camera located on the robot, view a patient’s pupils. The physician has access to the patient’s electronic medical record.

Within minutes, the neurologist, along with Emergency Department clinical staff, determines a plan of care and treatment to be initiated by the emergency physician.
