Pediatric Therapy
Caring for Children of All Ages
At Powers Health, our team of therapists works with children of all ages—ranging from premature infants to high schoolers—using the most up-to-date treatments and techniques to reach an optimal outcome.
Our staff is trained in traditional approaches such as an integrated therapeutic approach, as well as in the most advanced techniques available, including myofascial release, sensory integration, infant massage and electrical stimulation.
We use a variety of activities to keep your child involved, including therapeutic play, balance and coordination games, handwriting, video games and pediatric aquatic therapy.
Pediatric Aquatic Therapy
Pediatric aquatic therapy is available at Community Hospital Fitness Pointe for children 6 months and older. Patients often find relief in aquatic therapy for the following conditions:
- Autism
- Cerebral palsy
- Neurological disorders
- Orthopedic issues
- Hemiparesis
- Muscular dystrophy
Aside from enjoying the water, the benefits of aquatic therapy include strengthening muscles, increased range of the joints, relieving pain, encouraging sensory awareness, as well as bolstering balance, coordination and core control. The child may be able to perform movements in water that are too difficult on land.
