CCNI Physician Practice Manager
What is your role with Community Healthcare System?
I am the CCNI Physician Practice Network Manager.
What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
After high school, I went into the Air Force and was a flight medic. That gave me my first experience in healthcare. After that, I knew I wanted to stay in the medical field, but I was always more drawn to the administration side versus clinical.
What is a typical day like for you?
My day-to-day responsibilities include responding to calls or texts from staff who have called off or might be running late, and I find coverage. I discuss and work through any issues they might have. I also place orders for supplies, check numerous emails, correct timecards, place help desk tickets and deal with whatever comes up for the day that needs my attention. Every day is something different – that is one of the things I like most about my job.
How long have you been employed here?
I started at CCNI in August 2013. I’ve been here for 10 years now!
What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?
There has been a lot of growth. We have added several new locations under CCNI. We keep bringing on more providers in many different types of specialties. We have what our patients need without having to travel far to get high-quality care.
What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite ‘local gem?’
I love to read, cook and take trips with my family and friends to fun locations. My favorite local gem is Stacks Bar and Grill in Valparaiso. I love the food and atmosphere, especially in the summertime, sitting on the rooftop.
