What is your role with Powers Health?
I am a psychiatric registered nurse at St. Catherine Hospital.

How long have you been employed here?
I have been a Powers Health employee for about a year.

What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
My inspiration has always been to help people who are seeking mental and behavioral help. Some individuals don’t have the adequate resources, and as a nurse, I am able to advocate for them and help them search for the resources that they are missing in order to live a normal life.

What is a typical day like for you?
A typical day for me at the hospital is assessing patients, taking vitals and passing medications. I also answer to code yellows and secure patients who are a harm to themselves or others.

What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?
Working the floor as a charge nurse.

What are some of your interests outside of work?
I enjoy going for walks and traveling.

What do you enjoy most about working at Powers Health?
What I enjoy most about my job is helping others and seeing improvements in my patients’ mental health. Working side by side with skilled managers and co-workers really makes work a great place to be.
